This weekend saw me take the train from Nottingham to Norwich to enjoy a night in the countryside, a few quality beers, some barbecued meat and a few glasses of rum……oh yeh, and a NoKipple photo shoot for the new collections from Jelado, Trophy Clothing and the ZeeBee Leathers collaboration belt also happened whilst we were there.
The participants of this mini trip were me, my NoKipple compadre Jonathan and our friend and scientific photographer Alex, who brings a touch of alchemy and experimentation to the regular photo shoot process. Alex shoots solely on film, absolutely no digital, he utilises a variety of cameras and many a strange lens, but what he enjoys best is a photographic technique called Pinhole photography. This in done by (and please excuse my rudimentary understanding and layman’s terms) exposing the film through a really, really tiny hole for a prolonged period to give an infinite depth of field to the pictures. The effect can be crazy, as seen below in some of Alex’s own work…
The images I’m posting here are not by Alex, or shot on film, they are simply some goofing around shots which we did on my iPhone using that most hated app by photographers, Instagram. Being as the actual pictures were shot on film they will be another couple of weeks before they arrive, in the meantime I just thought I’d share a few insights into how this particular denim head spent his weekend.
